An overview of our team and their roles
Hello, my name is Trina Dungavel. I started my career as a care assistant, and I worked my way up to become a senior. With encouragement from the management, I undertook training and completed my level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care. In 2017 I was promoted to the position of activity coordinator.
What does an activity coordinator do?
Developing a wide range of activities is essential, it ensures we offer the right level of physical and mental stimulation. I organise individual and group activities, such as gardening, singing and crafts. Also, therapeutic activities for people that need more sensory-based pursuits.
As part of my role I also support and encourage our ladies and gentlemen to socialise within the homes. In addition, we accompany them on social outings, such as family get togethers, weddings, shopping trips etc.
It is equally important that everyone gets the most out of each activity. As a team, we work to ensure that everyone is enjoying themselves and comfortable with the events.
Who is Trina Dungavel?
I really enjoy my many hobbies, I love cooking and baking and sometimes share my efforts with everyone. Keeping fit is important to me, so I take my dogs on long walks every day. In fact my last hobby also keeps me fit, I play the bagpipes and it helps me to unwind.
